Eharmony Grooms Cake by helen1988 Eharmony Grooms Cake by helen1988
Too cute. This couple met on eharmony, which explains this cake. :P

The picture is hand painted fondant by yours truly, attached to foam core, then wrapped up in more fondant. :P

The foam core was stabbed with skewers, which were also stabbed into the cake, giving it great support.

The keyboard was cut by Sherri, and the letters were piped on by me.

David, the only computer-savvy person in the bakery, told me where to put the various jacks and plugs on the sides of the cake.

Awesomeness.

This one looks quite intricate. How long did it take you?

Thanks, we had fun making it. :)

The painting took an afternoon (roughly 3 hours), but that's mostly because my brother's girlfriend brought over her adorable daughter to visit, so I was distracted by the cuteness. :aww:

We set up the painting on the foamcore part the night before it went so it had plenty of time to dry, and the base of the cake went pretty quickly, considering it was just covered in fondant with a few decorations on the sides.

Oh, but the keyboard took about 1/2 an hour for sherri to cut, and the same amount of time for me to pipe the figures on it.

So... A rough guess would be... no more than 4 hours. :P

Crazy :P Though I suppose you can't take days and says to do it, otherwise it would go stale before you finish xD

Again, great job :3 When's the wedding?

... erm... no...

Snazzy... = flashily stylish/elegant in manner of dress...

I know what it really means, but in my mind snazzy = attacked by a bedazzler.

Just one of those weird mental jumps.

Chocolate stout, which is chocolate cake with guiness stout in the batter.

(we snuck in a little silicon, though)
